Hi all,

I'm brewing a session beer tomorrow to go in my corny.

I usually brew at 2 weeks fermenting then cool at 8c for a week to clear the beer.

Is it worth it when kegging? Shall I just put in the keg at 8c carbonate and let it crash cool that way? Effectively eliminating an extra week in the FV... :wha:

If i was you Nick i'd use a 2nd fermenter after initial fermentation is done to help get less sediment then after gravity was stable i'd crash cool for 2 days then transfer to keg , use finings in 2nd fermenter if you have any . You'll get clearer beer and no worries about moving keg as no sediment will have passed over .

Cheers mark.

I never secondary. And don't like finings, try to keep the beer as natural as possible.

Think I will still crash cool then if sediment is going to be an issue... although thinking about it. I always used to put my TC straight into the keg before fermentation has finished and always it was crystal clear
