Hi,

I have just bought an ebay Co2 regulator got my first corny keg set up, but I think I might have bought the wrong thing.

The first gauge reads pressure on a scale I doubt I will ever need in my keg, 0-400bar. The second measures flow rate in CFH.

If I have bought the wrong thing pleas could some kind soul point me in the direction of the right one! I have a home brew festival to attend at the end of the month and need to get it all hooked up to force carb next week at the latest!

Thanks in advance!

you want one with pressure measured in psi on the out guage, if the supplier cant exchange it for you, a cheaper option may just be to fit a 2nd gauge inline after the reg to help with the brewing, ebay for a gauge suitable for gas with a 1/4" bsp thread £5-£10, a jg 3/8" T or Y to split off the gas line, a 3/8" jg to 1/4" fitting ( a female 1/4" tp 38" jg would be best, i couldnt find one so joint a male fitting to the male gauge thread with a f/f barrel socket... all off ebay,

you could try removing and replacing the gauge on the reg, but they are fitted with a sealing thread lock that can take some oomph to shift, to change the feed hose on my board i needed a 4 ft steel tube lever extension on my wrench.

to be safe you want a gauge with an upper limit similar to the current one fitted, otherwise if connected fully open the pressure could exceed the limit of the gauge u fit and kill it.. the problem with a gauge with a hi max limit is it will have a poor granularity of grade on its scale probably jumping 4-5 psi with each increment. to use a gauge with a finer granularity with 1 or 2 psi per increment, and a lower max pressure you MUST ALLWAYS start with the reg off and gently increase pressure to be safe..
