I set a Youngs barley wine away 2 weeks ago. All seems fine, except i`ve noticed there is what looks like undissolved floaters of BKE in it. Will this be ok? Is there anything i can do?
I was gonna do a Coopers stout sometime this week again using 1kg of BKE. Is it best to dissolve it in a pan with boiling water first?
Cheers for any help.

Chances are that your floaters are actually little rafts of yeast. Certainly nothing to worry about. :thumb:

It is best to dissolve malt extract first, sugar's not so bad. BKE being at least 50% spraymalt, you will make your life easier by dissolving in hot water first.

Thanks for the fast reply mate, & thanks for putting my mind at rest. Will disolve in boiling water defo next time. Might even try the liquid malt extract for easiness.
Cheers mate.

LME will give you a far far better beer at the end, costs a bit more but is well worth it IMO. :thumb:
