I have just finished my second brew from my King Keg. Its happened again! I cant get the top off. I do have a dodgy shoulder but it occurs to me that to get the top off I need two hands to hold the keg firmly and another two hand to try to turn the top.

Does anyone else have this problem and how do you manage it?

One answer is to not tighten it so much when you put it on! Put a little vaseline on the top of the barrel to stop the o-ring from sticking, screw the lid down until the o-ring contacts the top of the barrel and then no more than half a turn further - easy hand tight.

Another answer is a strap wrench (big bottle opener).

I had a problem with losing gas and discovered that the valve hadn't been tightened enough. I suppose it was this that caused me to over tighten it. It was certainly more than 'end of finger tight'

I think you have hit the nail on the head. Thanks guys :thumb:
