My new 40 litre buffalo boiler arrived today  so it's going to be brew day tomorrow. I got some Progress hops cheap so I thought i'd give them a go and keep it simple. Recipe for tomorrow 25 litre brew is

Maris Otter 5kg
Crystal .250kg

40g progress 90 minutes
30g Progress 30 minutes

Got safale 04 or wilkos ale yeast, I think s-04 for this one.

If you have some EK Goldings add some at 10mins, they go well with Progress, good luck anyway

I did have some E K goldings, I can't remember if I used the last of them in my Fathers Day brew (a whole crate given to the father-in-law), I'll check in the morning and chuck some in if there is any. I was thinking about adding some Amarillo but I'm not sure how that'll work so I'll pass on them for this brew.

No EKG, so I'll stick to the recipe I have. It's a nice day, so I'm brewing outside

More pics to come...

nearly done, rain forced me into a 60 minute boil instead of 90, had to finish brewing under an umbrella. Lessons learnt:

Check weathet report before brewing outside
wear shoes if brewing outside
put more holes in the hop stopper or you'll be standing in the rain for hours watching wort drip through the tap.

OK, final photos...

New chiller worked really well, even if it's very badly made

1042 at luke warm temperature, my cat knocked the thermometer on the floor, shortly followed by the hydromometer!

The speed of wort! hop stopper is stopping more than wort
