Pressure barrel lid

Just finished my first brew in my pressure barrel, I now want to start a new one, I cannot get the lid off, I have released all the pressure (prv removed)
But still not joy, anyone else had this issue and if so how did you overcome it?

Try putting hot water on it. Should make it expand slightly and might loosen whatever is sticking it.

You can probably buy a cap spanner for this (you can for my King kegs) but in the meantime maybe a strap wrench?

I have one of these for all sorts of mechanical stubbornness. Plastic on plastic is a particular pita. Next time grease it (noooo not that grease )

The strap wrench or cut a hole in a piece of plywood that corresponds to the lid shape ( my method ).

Plus swearing at it helps!

just a heads up, I managed to get it off by using a hairdryer for a minute or to, enough for it to move with a lid spanner

If you get a long screwdriver between the posts, go careful but you should be able to get enough purchase to loosen it.
