On the subject of stuff in cars, how about the button on the floor to squirt the windscreen?
 
Anyone remember local home brew shops? Where you could walk in off the street, browse the goods, seek advice off the shopkeeper and buy equipment, kits, hops, grain and all sorts of other HB goodies and once paid for, take them home that day rather than have to wait for stuff to be delivered.
 
On the subject of stuff in cars, how about the button on the floor to squirt the windscreen?

They used to put the headlight dimmer switch down there in some cars, seem to remember my mates Triumph Herald had one.

Remember scrolling through hundreds of pages on ceefax to book a holiday. If you didn’t write the number down you had to go through it all again.

and getting points when you bought petrol to save up to get a free glass!! What was that all about!! Seems crazy now looking back!
 
What about getting free tiger tails from Esso petrol stations, you could tie them on the car aerial.

I don't remember the tiger tails but remember them giving away free sun strips you put across the top of your screen like the one below.

Remember when if you drove a Skoda people would laugh at you - (Skip to 1:00 to cut out all the ****)


 
Q: Why did a Skoda have a heated rear windscreen?
A: To keep your hands warm when you're pushing it!
