So, after reading through pages and pages of cool and useful recipes I am ready to go. I have made a gallon of strawberry wine and a gallon of dark fruits wine. Both bottled and ageing now. Taste not bad for early days. I want to make a “white wine” next. Obviously without white grape juice as...

Adding more fruit after primary fermentation

Thanks very much. Appreciated. I am a bit of a random experimenter so I added some fermenting Pinot from a kit I am brewing and topped up with pure OJ. Will leave it for a week, rack off any pulpy bits and leave for a month and see. Will let you know and thanks again.

Adding more fruit after primary fermentation

Hi. I have just finished the primary fermentation of strawberry wine. I have racked off the pulp now. It doesn’t taste very strawberry like. I have read you can add some extra fruit now it’s in second fermentation. Is this correct? Will it have any adverse affects? many thanks all.

Do I stabilise home made wine?

Just strained out the berry mulch. Had a taste. Not bad. Quite sour right now. I guess I leave it back in the demijohn with an airlock in a warm ish place? Thanks all.

Do I stabilise home made wine?

Thanks all. It has slowed down a lot now and only bubbling through the airlock about once a minute. Will leave it a few days and then siphon off the good stuff and leave to do it’s thing again for a few weeks. Will just go natural and let it clear over the next few weeks. If I can wait. Will...

Do I stabilise home made wine?

Hi all. I have made many kits and just fermenting a homemade strawberry wine. Now with the kits I add a stabiliser sachet and then clearing agents. So do I do this with this strawberry wine? I have some clearing liquids but most of what I have read doesn’t mention using anything other than rack...

Wine kits - made a few - good results but could use your input

I suppose it gets to a point where the cost of getting Wilko or ebay grape juice is the same as buying a kit! I am having great results with WineWorks kits at the moment and you get 5 litres of juice for the money. Just cleared a winner of a pinot rosé and its sitting in the 5l tesco special...

Wine kits - made a few - good results but could use your input

As you can get white wine juice from "the bay" does anyone know what its like? A litre is around £12 so could be viable? Thanks for all your input everyone. Ben

Wine kits - made a few - good results but could use your input

Thanks for your help guys. Off to get some 5l water containers from supermarket to store my Pinot Rose in for a few weeks. Also might check out the juice whilst I am there :) 100% fruit of course. Also will see if I can get a glass Demi from Wilko but if not might resort to using a water...

Many thanks. I am interested in the WOW Supermarket wines - just read through hundreds of pages. There is soooo much to digest (pun intended). I would love to make a white wine sort of WOW so will have a good search through. Love the fact that so many people do it but for me I need simple...

Wine kits - made a few - good results but could use your input

Hi all, I have made a few kits over the last few months with good results generally with one exception (it was my first "cheap" kit wine - no flavour!). I have read loads of useful information from the forums and hoping that you can give me some pointers to make the wine better and me more...

Help with improving flavour from the kit I made

Hi all, I am on my third wine kit now and after producing two lovely batches from two different kits (WineWorks Pinot Grigio and Cellar 7 Pinot Grigio) I decided to make a WineBuddy kit to see how a cheaper kit faired. Unfortunately I am left with what tastes like alcoholic water that has been...
