My 2 pennyworth.
Go AG! It's not difficult and I brew beers superior to most pub beers and work out to around 30p per pint!
I bought a coolbox and a 30 Litre food grade plastic bucket, 2 Tesco value kettles for the elements and a few bits of copper tubing, connectors and ball valves.
It takes...
I've tried Fawcett's and Crisp M.O.
With the Fawcett's I tend to get a slightly higher efficiency but unsure if that's due to the brand of M.O. or something else.
My beer's always tasted good whichever I've used.
Terry.
Not posted (or brewed) for a while so I thught I would as I've just created a recipe.
I love my hoppy beers and have had a great deal of success with Citra and NZ Cascade so I thought I'd try a different hop this time.
I looked through the freezer and found an unopened bag of Green Bullet...
The kit will already be buttered so you just want aroma and flavour schedules.
Go for the cascade only.
15g @ 15 minutes.
25g @ 5 minutes.
40g @ 0 minutes (at flameout for 20 minutes)
That's how I'd do it but I've only ever used whole hops.
Best of luck.
No need to rack it to a fermenting vessel. Fermenting for 2 weeks in the fermenting bin and leave the lid tightly closed. No idea why you rack to secondary. I never have.
