Sounds good thanks for the help! Any ideas what kind of pressure it takes to carbonate beer? I was thinking about tapping a simple pressure gauge onto my King Keg just to monitor the pressure so I know when to top up the co2...
Hello all,
Just a quick question (sorry if this has come up before), if I was to rack a brew into a King Keg and not add any sugar for carbonation and only added co2 via the co2 bulbs, would my beer carbonate over time? Maybe id have to re-pressurise a few times but am I right in thinking it...
Thanks for the replies guys...
Tried a bottle today and not much fizz there, its only been up there a few days. The bottle gave a little hiss when opening but nothing too spectacular yet!
The cider tasted lovely though...

Hey guys... Just racked off a batch of 23litres of TC into pint bottles. I primed with 2 extra litres of AJ.
Just wondering how long it will take before its carbonated? I put the bottles back into a room at 20 deg/c.
Thanks,
Ben.
The idea would be to rack into some mini kegs and leave them in the fridge for parties and bbq's...
My other alternative is this which is pretty expensive but iv read good reviews....

Yea at drinking stage... The taste was lovely and, as we got through the keg the smell magically went away!
I think I may have racked a tad early though which may explain it (was still cloudy when drinking).
Anyone know if the mini kegs found in places such as Lidl and Tesco can be re-used?
Iv heard that the 5 litre Heiniken ones CANNOT be re-used but has anyone tried the other brand mini kegs?
Ben
I used a Young's Cider Yeast...
It fermented for about 7 days then I kegged the whole 25 litres into a plastic keg. The taste was fine (we drank the whole thing)
Hey guys,
I had a batch of turbo cider that we drank over the weeked which was really nice; was about 7% and tasted lovely. But... the smell off it was not so lovely :( , it smelled a bit like sulphur (I think).
Is this normal? And how can I make it smell nice....?
Cheers

Hey guys...
This might sound a little impatient but I have had my TC racked for about 3 days now and its still prety cloudy...
It tastes lovely, dry but still has a nice apple flavor...!
Im just wondering if there is anything wrong with drinking it cloudy? When I say drinking I mean a few...
OK thanks for the advice!
Did I read somewhere that if the brew is over 26 deg/C that the yeast dies?
Maybe heating the brew would kill it? Or does that have adverse side effects?
