    Mix in my hops...??

Thanks Slid, I’ll do that I think. Hoping it’ll turn out ok now! 4:21 is an ipa, load of raspberries and vanilla pods in the secondary, lactose in the boil and heavily dry hopped...I hope! Ha!

    Mix in my hops...??

Hi folks! I hope you’re all safe and well! I am just about finishing up a clone of Omnipollo 4.21 and I dry hopped the other day. Now I’ve just had a peep and the 236g of pellets are all just sat on top of the raspberries that are in there...I’m afraid to mix it as It seems pointless just sat on...

    NEIPA hints and tips

I have read this too about NEIPAs and tucking into them sooner rather than let them condition. I believe the flavour and haze can drop after time. I kegged my NEIPA on Friday evening, ended up nearly 3 weeks in the FV but it needed it as my yeast was being a bit stubborn! I have been...

    Does anyone use...

Its certainly made my brewdays so much more streamlined and allows me to do lots. Cleaning and setting up is a breeze. I will add, that photo isn't great, I am usually a lot tidier than that! ha!

I've been delivered Co2 liquid withdrawal...can I use it at all!?

I was thinking of inverting it alright...hoping the BOC agent can save me with a delivery but where I am I fear I will have to go with turning it upside down!

    Does anyone use...

I bought a Grainfather before Christmas and for me its the best purchase I made. I love it! The ease of use, cleaning etc... Often on brewdays I will smoke a brisket or something and with the app its so easy to monitor. I bought the G30 plus a Ferminator too, put my tax back from the part of the...

I've been delivered Co2 liquid withdrawal...can I use it at all!?

My local BOC agent delivered my wee cannister of co2 but they have given me liquid withdrawal. Upon calling them the guy hadn't heard of the vapour withdrawal (they are just a farming supplies store) and had just sent out the liquid withdrawal as they don't have the vapour... Can I use this at...

    NEIPA hints and tips

Afternoon folks! I’m just checking in on this. I’m on day 10 now and I’m having some issues. My gravity has only dropped from 1.046 to 1.019 for a few days now, way off the 6-7% I was aiming for. Has anyone any advice on what I could do? I do have another vial of yeast, would this help or am I...

    NEIPA hints and tips

Think I missed the boat on the high krausen :/ I’m going to hold off for now, see if there’s any change in the next couple days then cold crash and hop and hope for the best 😂

    NEIPA hints and tips

Thanks Clint! I was thinking that alright as I would have been scaled down to work with my Grainfather. So you say hop away and leave it at it for the next 5 days or so? No concern around the low Krausen? First time actually dry hopping so just going to crack the lid a bit and pop them in?

    NEIPA hints and tips

So not sure if anyone can help me here. I brewed on Saturday so 5 days ago now and I’m thinking my readings are not where they should be. My initial reading was way off what I as aiming for at 1046 (BD say OG of 1065). After 5 days I'm on 1028. It is out in the shed in the fridge so I haven't...

    NEIPA hints and tips

Yes I'm the same, there's only so far I can get with what I have. I'm going to keg this one (first time doing so) and I added on the beer gun (so can purge with co2) and will bottle a few to give away. So far so good, I brewed Saturday and noticed my yeast was out of date so have a second vial...

    NEIPA hints and tips

I have to admit i have no idea how you would do the second part! How do you make a starter? I just have the one wee vial I got online. I have the Vermont ale from Yeast Bay. TIA!

    Bottling

After many years of capping I made the switch to swing tops on my last batch. I wouldn't ever go back to caps. I just find the swing tops that bit less hassle. Of course if you are looking at repurposing some bottles your choice of beer is extremely limited!
