    Question about kegging

Hi all. I've always bottled my beer in the past, but have decided to keg it instead. I've got a bog standard pressure barrel with a s30 cap. My question is, I've but the beer in the barrel with 100g of sugar to condition it. Do I need to inject one of those little co2 bulbs straight away or...

    Fiery Ginger Beer

Found 4 bottles of last years brew at the back of the shed last weekend. Popped one in the fridge and gave it a try. Absolutely amazing. Crystal clear, sweet, fiery and very tasty. I'll be doing much more of this and laying it away

My Wilko Hoppy Copper Bitter experiment.

I'll be bottling my 4th experiment with this one tomorrow. Just the one tin, brewed short to 20l, with the required kilo of sugar. But I've added 500g of dark muscovado sugar and a tin of black treacle. O.G was 1.046 now down to 1.008. The taste from the trial jar is promising

    Re: Willco's hoppy copper.

Done this one a few times now. First time was my first ever ale brew (I usually make wine :-)). First time, I followed the instructions and ended up with a pale, not very hoppy obviously homebrewed beer. M'eh, I thought. So having read reams of info on here I decided to fiddle with it a bit...

Just bog standard general purpose wine yeast, 1 teaspoon per gallon and a teaspoon of yeast nutrient

    My first hooch

No. That was per pint bottle. Makes it perfect for my taste

    My first hooch

I've made this a couple of times now. The second was much better than the first. First one fermented dry so was a bit bland and sour but still drinkable. For the second batch I used 1 and a half teaspoons of Candarel to sweeten it up and the difference was amazing. This and ginger beer are now...

It definitely benefits from a teaspoon of splenda in each bottle. Totally transforms it

    Fiery Ginger Beer

So, I started another batch of this today. This time I've substituted the limes in my original recipe for oranges. The smell is amazing :thumb: Ingredients all ready to go. 2 kilos of fresh root ginger (2 quid per kilo from asda), 2 lemons and 3 oranges (zest and juice) and 2.6 kilos of...

    Fiery Ginger Beer

I'm very pleased with the way mine turned out. Only got 8 bottles left  It's so simple and easy to make with outstanding results. I ended up with 34 pints of delicious 6% ginger beer for around 8 quid. Gonna try some with oranges replacing the limes. This is now my stock brew and...
