    Brewing Crossroads

Hi all I am at something of a brewing crossroads as I have been increasingly drawn in by the hobby over the past couple of years. I think it is now time for me to decide whether to invest more and money into brewing, which is really only feasible for me if I have some method to a) re-coup some...

    Gah! Worth a rescue attempt?

Hi all Bit of a disaster on my latest kit brew. Transferred from FV to keg on Friday. Left it primed in the hallway at a cool 20 degrees and it was ok friday, saturday and sunday. Went to check it and move it to garage last night and keg is leaking gently from the bottom of tap. The tap was...

    Transferring from FV to Keg

Hi all My second kit (a Muntons Porter) is almost ready to be transferred to the barrel - I have a newbie question though When I siphon from the FV to the barrel should I use a filter such as the one here, or transfer it directly through the tube into the keg...

    First ever Kit!

My wherry took almost 12 weeks to clear - after 6 weeks it was a little cloudy but very sweet tasting. After 12 it was much more pleasant and started to have body and flavour like a 'proper' ale. Now, at 5 months in the keg it is fantastic. Probably not the standard of an experienced AG brewers...

    Cloudy Wherry Real Ale Bitter

My wherry was kegged in the garage from sept and took 8-10 weeks to clear. It also started off a little sweet but is now fantastic. As jamesb told me at the time when I asked the same question, just have a little patience! Regards Roy
