Just to update, I returned to the keg the next day and guess what - everything was fine!!?? The beer came out with quite a lot of force into my pint glass. A bit cloudy so I've returned it to the garage and left it alone.

I'm baffled to say the least!!

This has happened to me on each brew I have made, will only pour the first part pint before glugging back, open the cap a touch screw back up, no more problems. Must admit as soon as possible I inject with CO2

I don't get what's happening though? And do you inject C02 as soon as you keg the beer?

I had a few pints maybe 4 or so and then injected, the barrel puffed up a bit tho! So probably safer to drink a bit more first, although the valve I believe has a pressure relief incorporated with in. The CO2 is only a blanket on top to keep the condition of the beer and in our case seems to aid pouring. When I was a publican the real ales all had CO2 at blanket pressure of, I think around 4psi, some one can correct me on this as it was a while ago now!
