So.. I started the Evil Dog Double Hopped IPA kit on Friday, and checking it today I've got a good half inch of sediment in the bottom of the FV. It's bubbling away every 5 seconds, and some of the sediment is rising a couple of inches then falling to the bottom again.

Is this normal, or should I be worried there's an issue with my brew? It's my first go in over 25 years brewing, so I'm a bit unsure...

Ta!

No need to worry at all. It's probably just debris that's falling out of the wort.

I have had many brews where the only sign of life has been a build up of trub in the bottom and nothing through the air-lock.
