Which bottled water brands are people using nowadays?

I use RO pretty much because I have a marine fish tank and use the Harris Pure Brew for additions. A cheap RO unit can be had for around £30-40. I used to buy RO for around £5 per 20-25 litres.

    St Peters Kits

I ordered my Plum Porter kit from Brew2Bottle it's been in corny for 2 weeks and after a taste test albeit an early taste it's not tasting too plummy, maybe that will change as the weeks go on. Check the review on there, someone left it 6 weeks or so and it pretty much sums up how mine tastes...

    Boiler recommendations please

Haven't used it yet. Decided to have a go at a couple kits after speaking to a friend who says they get no twang. Going off topic but the kit which is the St Peter Plum Porter has no or very little I couldn't be sure homebrew taste to it so far. That's after suing RO water and the Harris Pure...

    That homebrew taste after barreling

Small update. Just had a half pint after 3 days being force carbed and it tastes okay. Maybe, maybe a small hombrew taste but that may be the plum side of it but it's definitely better than anything I've brewed from a can before so I guess I'll see how it goes over the coming weeks.

    That homebrew taste after barreling

Kit was made as instructions with the Harris Pure Brew added which I think is like a campden tablet with added salts and then some additive for the yeast. It was left for 2 weeks to ferment then moved yesterday in a corny with a Co2 blanket inside, lid fitted purged/refilled few times to remove...

    That homebrew taste after barreling

I have recently gone back to kits and got the St James Plum Porter to try as my first one. It has been fermenting for 2 weeks now and I plan to barrel it into a corny on Sunday. I had a small taste when I did a hydrometer reading and as usual it tasted fine as in no homebrew taste. I also used...

    Brew Bros Anybody?

Found their site today, might order a kit or 2. They also have a YT channel.

    Commercial Cider Taste

I recently did one of Brew2Bottle's own apple cider kits and whilst perfectly drinkable and tasting okay I much prefer the taste of cider from the shops. Can anyone recommend a good kit that tastes similar from something you'd get from the shops similar to Thatchams or Stowford Press?

    Boiler recommendations please

I had a look at the wiring and decided I didn't want to kill myself/burn the house down/cause explosion so got on Google and found a Peco with 15% off which is now ordered.

    Boiler recommendations please

I guess so but I wouldn't know how tbh. The element still works and it's 2 elements if that matters. I'd have to have a look.

    Boiler recommendations please

It will just be used for heating mash/sparge water then doing the final boil.

    Boiler recommendations please

I have a Klarstein AIO which is a few years old now and out of warranty which has decided it no longer wnats to work. It seems like the control board has packed in somewhere around where the LCD screen ribbon connects to the board. It's only done 20 maybe 30 brews which has kind of put me off...

    CML Helles

On pic 2 if anyone is wondering I was just pumping the water up and over the grain to help doughing in before putting the mesh cover thing on. I'm not very good with technical names of things either.

    CML Helles

Started just after 8am, finished just after 12pm. Cleaned up in time for dinner. Took no readings like usual and just went for it. Target was 19 litres, got 19 litres in the fermenter.

    CML AG Helles

Don't know about things like that. I just put everything in Brewfather and use whatever it tells me. Got 19 litres worth so jobs a good 'un.

    CML AG Helles

Thanks. Just waiting for mash to finish.

    CML AG Helles

Never done a CML AG kit before. It's calling for a boil of 90 mins with a single hop addition at 60 mins. Could I reduce the boil down to 60 mins with no negative effect? Thanks.

    Crossmyloof

Didn't seem that many when I was looking through them. Usually order from Malt Miller where I try and order 2 or 3 to keep P&P down.

    Crossmyloof

Haven't been on here in ages. Glad I came back a few days ago. Thanks to some postings about CML I placed an order today for a Helles AG, can't remember which one, the maltier one. It came to £17.55? with the discount and free delivery? BARGAIN. Shame they don't do a few more kits. It was a toss...
