    Malt

There is an online shop based in Malta www.thebeerhop.com and although I’ve personally not used them a friend of mine has bought kit from them in the past.

    Love brewing - any good?

I’ve used Love Brewing several times (including during LockDown when times were difficult) and have never been let down by their service. I have only ever bought hardware (my very first starter kit and then more recently Corny kegs) and have always been happy

    Co2 supplier near Newark

Hello! You could give Cheers Cellar Gas a call on 07872 628984. They are based in Leicestershire which isn’t too far away I don’t think. Give them a call as I’m sure they will be able to help out.

    Candi Crystal Substitute??

Thank you gents. The recipe calls for light Candi crystals so I think I’ll go all out and just throw in some golden syrup and some muscovado. What the worst that can happen??!!

    Candi Crystal Substitute??

Good evening! As I’m finding it difficult to source some Candi crystal (only needing that makes postage prohibitive) for the GH winter ale recipe are there any alternatives to use or will the recipe taste ok without it?? Looking to get my winter ales on the go ASAP!! Cheers 🍻

    S-04 under-attenuating for dark beers

I’ve just brewed a Hobgoblish ale and used S04 which fermented down from 1044OG to 1010FG in less than six days (77% attenuation). The beer was very clear and the yeast had settled so I decided to keg it early so I can get my next brew on! I’ve never Kegged a beer that early so will be...

    Mouthfeel?

I agree with An Ankou, I noticed when I moved from kits to AG that not only did the taste improve massively but also the mouth feel. The next improvement I made was moving to CO2 and a regulator so now I get a perfect pint pretty much all the time

Nylon Bag and Ceramic Beads For Dry Hopping??

I’m ready to dry hop my latest brew and was wondering whether it was ok to use a nylon bag weighed down with ceramic baking beads to hold the hops down. Obviously these would be sterilised and sanitised before use so would it be ok or is a muslin bag and marbles a better option?? 🍻

    Renamed: Andy’s Kegerator Build

I’ve kept it as it was intended. The gas bottle is at the back of the machine rather than inside and is free standing rather than in the cradle supplied.

    Renamed: Andy’s Kegerator Build

I’ve got the Mangrove Jack three tap Kegerator and bought it for the same reasons as you want to buy one. It’s a good bit of kit (yes it’s overpriced for what it actually is) and does the job. It’s worth noting that it will fit three kegs only if they are the newer type AEB kegs (slightly taller...

Brewing in a 30 litre Klarstein with 4.6kg of mash

Ian, hello! I’m by no means an expert compared to others on this great forum and I use a MiBrewery all in one system. I use the ratio of 3.27 litres of liqor per kg of grain for the mash so if you are using 4.6kg of grain I would use 15litres of mash liqor. Hope that helps and enjoy your Brew...

I’ve got 3 kids and am on LockDown. Mine keep for around 3 days!!!!

    Brewuk....online shop

Mixed results if I’m honest. I’ve bought a fermenter from them (delivery was poor but the product was as expected), a keg delivered on time and a Kegerator. The Kegerator was faulty on delivery but between Dan and I we sorted it however I’ve experienced a few other quality issues that has made...

    robobrew

I got mine from BeerTorrent. Their after sales service is fantastic and it’s where I get all my ingredients from as well. The machine has never let me down and I’ve been brewing consistently with it for over 2 years now.

Who can brew beer at home

I think it’s acceptable whatever your profession. I must admit when I tell people I’m into brewing my own beer the usual response is “oh, my dad did that years ago”. I guess everyone has tried brewing at some point or other. It’s whether you decide to stick to it or not. I did and I brew some...
