Brewing half of a beer kit

Yes, that is what I am currently doing. I am just considering possible ways of having more variety and less quantity.

Brewing half of a beer kit

That's my problem, I now have about 150 bottles and keep buying more when I fancy a new beer. I don't get anywhere near through 45 bottles before fancying something new :laugh8:

Brewing half of a beer kit

Hi All, I have a few Mangrove Jacks brewing kits to do but don't necessarily want 23litres of each in one go. Is it possible to brew half a beer kit with half the recommended DME, priming sugar etc and store the other half of the kit? If so, how is it best to store a once opened kit...

    When to add citra hops???

Some really useful information here, thank you! I went for 50grams of the citra, tried to keep as cool as possible, and it turned out pretty nice! Will definitely be doing it again. Thanks everyone!

PeeBee's Brewday - Low Alcohol Beer

I like the idea of boiling 90% and then adding the 10%. Will give this a go as an easy experiment and see where it gets me. Thanks!!

PeeBee's Brewday - Low Alcohol Beer

Hi All, I am also interested in making a low/non alcoholic brew. I am going to attempt the boil method and see what happens. I plan to make my brew in the normal way until I would normally bottle. Instead of bottling I will boil the entire brew for a few hours, let it cool, check the gravity...

    When to add citra hops???

Hi All, So I am ready to add my hops to my FV. Will be adding 15-20g as recommended above. How long do you recommend I leave them in before bottling? Also, in terms of mocking a cold crash, I do not have a garage and brew indoors, shall I leave the FV outside for a night? Advice greatly...

Cani stir my bin after adding the yeast?

Great, thanks! I'm not worried about the measurement being incorrect, more worried about the brew not going well because I didn't stir it properly. Never mind, will keep my fingers crossed. Hopefully it hasn't affected it.

Cani stir my bin after adding the yeast?

Hi Banbeer, I use the same method as this, however I don't think I stirred again after topping up to 23l with cold water :( . Do you think this will effect the brew?

Cani stir my bin after adding the yeast?

Hi All, Relative newbie here. I have just put a Coopers brew on which gave a low OG reading of 1.032. I have made the same brew twice before and got 1.038 both times. Looking back (and from reading previous posts on here), I don't think I stirred it enough before taking the reading and adding...

    When to add citra hops???

Thanks both of you. I will try your method Banbeer. No cold crash facilities sadly, that's my next investment. Will this matter? Also. Why would you not recommend these hops for this brew? - Wrong hops or wrong kit? I hope was that it would add a citrusy/hoppy twist to it. Thanks!

    When to add citra hops???

BTW, they are pellet hops. Thanks!

    When to add citra hops???

Hi Everyone, Relative newbie here, on my 6th brew. I have purchased some citra hops to add to a Coopers Canadian Blond to make it a bit more interesting. I have read about adding for a few days from day one of brew, and read about adding after a week, and even making a tea and adding at...

How can I brew a hazey IPA?

Wow thanks everyone! There is some great info here. I must admit, alot of the terminology and processes have gone straight over my head so I will return to the homebrew book for a few chapters and come back to this thread. I am unsure whether I need a beer kit as a base before adding the...

Fermentation temperature for lager. Am I too hot?

Great, thanks for the info! So it seems it's possible but tricky and not authentic. I think I may just wait and get hold of a second hand fridge and do it properly. The waiting for a brew is nervy enough without the added thought of 'will it work' or 'will it be any good' I think. Thanks again...

How can I brew a hazey IPA?

Hi All, I am wanting to brew a nice hazey citrusy IPA. Anyone have a nice recipe? I'm not sure if I am running before walking here as I am a relative newby. I have not yet passed the stage of adding hop pellets to a starter kit so please go easy on me! :) Thanks in advance! Ross
