Bottled the brew tonight, everything smelled ok, but when I tried a taste it tasted slightly vinegary. Is this normal?
I added sugar to the bottles for secondiary fermentation, will this help?
Thanks again, I feel more confident in going ahead with it. I am going with 20litres, as it says on the can to go for either 18 or 23 depending on the strength you want. I will post with the results.
Having had a very hectic summer, where I was not able to start anything brewing for the festive period, I wonder if anyone has any tips as to what I could start now that would be suitable and, as important, ready in time?
After leaving it for 3 months Idecided to try a bottle last week, unfortunately the chlorine raste was still there. Sad to see nearly 40 pints going down the drain.
3 weeks after bottling, I tried a bottle last night and it was excellent, no ill effects on the extended time in the bucket. I am really looking forward to my festive tipple. if the brew is this good after 3 weeks what will it be like after 3 months.
After bottling a Finlandia lager I decided to try one before putting it into storage and got a hint of chlorine in the taste. I had cleaned and sterilised using VWP and was sure that I had rinsed everything properly. Is there anything I can do to save the situation or do I pour it down the sink .

I have a Youngs Harvest Bitter which has been in the bucket for nealy 3 weeks and it is still bubbling away regularly. Should I just leave it to carry on till it stops or should I do anything?
I have just bought a Coopers Selection Sparkling Ale kit which recommends a 1.5 kg can of Light Malt extract along with 500g of light dry malt along with 300g of dextrose sugar. It seems a bit excessive, help!!!!
