Best way to get a label off a bottle

From experience in other areas of life, some labels in some applications comes off best with either heat ( from a hairdryer or heat gun) or alcohol ( which I presume works on some glues that are not water soluble) and I`ve tried both when struggling with soap and water.

St. Peters, India Pale Ale - Is this on track to deliver?

I`ve just brewed a St Peter`s Pale Ale. Bottled it two weeks ago. Some gorgeous fresh hop flavours at bottling, clear, and a good colour...undrinkable due to an unpleasant lingering bitterness. Tried a bottle the other night, even though still so young, and the fresh flavours have receded...

    Silver spoon sugar cubes

I`m going to be bottling a Will`s Old English Ale kit in about 10 days. I`ve just added hop pellets today. The kit came with a muslin bag so you can filter out the hops when bottling. It`s currently in the Fermenting Vessel, which has no tap, and my intention is to siphon it through the bag...

Why do peeps still keep peddling

A mate of a mate works on Mobile Masts. He was on a job recently when a member of the public approached and started haranguing him , demanding to know if he was installing 5G, and did he know how harmful it was, blah blah blah? `Nah, mate`, he said, `That`s what they TELL you. We`re up to 7G...

Why do peeps still keep peddling

There are many things that contribute to the likelihood of someone going full Batshit Conspiracy Junky . You can guess many of them..... a low educational level, insecurity....feeling marginalised and needing to `belong` to some peer group, etc. But at base ( according to some psychology...

Always knew it as the Austin Princess...pretty much everyone did! But..I found out recently...that really wasn`t the case.! My pride and joy after passing my test was a brown Triumph Dolomite 1500 HL. Well, I wanted a Stag, and it was as near as I could afford! Had a land Crab once., too...

Turning ferrous metal to non ferrous

Depends on the wax, the time, and the temperature. For a few years my job involved working with rural communities in Africa and Asia, helping them export fair-trade and organic foodstuffs to the EU. These were desparately poor people without modern equipment, and inputs, that were having to...

302 obviously...but had forgotten it was local sport at 390 until you mentioned it. To paraphrase Eric and Ernie, I DO know all the right numbers, just not necessarily in the right order! Except 317. I supported a second tier footie team... ..and still do . :( More Ale !:D

    Bottles and breweries

In the context of Home Brewed Beer....is it likely to be a problem if I used Clear Bottles? The reason why I ask is that many years ago when I brewed I made a few strong ales that all went in clear glass....mainly because I had a good supply of Lab bottles from my workplace, and a large number...

    Do you remember.

Probably got the best answer to that..I was a child in Zambia, sub-Saharan Africa. We had no telly and had to wait for a photo set to be sent from the UK. Shortly afterwards we travelled to the neighbouring country of Rhodesia where the Bush War was getting serious after UDI. Crossing over the...

    St Peter Review

Hi Beer Baron, I`ve just started brewing again after a 30 odd year break, I wanted some Pale Ale for the summer, and had no kit. So as we speak, I have exactly that Starter Kit ( with the St Peters India Pale Ale ) next me to now, about 3 days...
