In Progress: Home Brew Pump Enclosure

Thankyou I've got to finish this yet though. What kind of speed controllers would you be using? I've settled on a bench power supply giving me precise control but would be very interested in a controller that could go in the box too!

    Variable voltage or pump control?

So lowering the speed of the pump or voltage can shorten the life of the pump? Ooh I'm worried now :wha: So I can adjust it with my lever ball valve tap? I thought restricting the flow would damage the pump that's why I went down the voltage route. My head is hurting with all this voltage...

    Variable voltage or pump control?

Interesting Fil :thumb: It's certainly one option, are there any more options? How do you guys control and slow the pump when using it with a rotating sparge arm? And do you have a second pump from the mash tun to the boiler going at the same rate? One day I will finally get round to brewing...

    Variable voltage or pump control?

I'm making a solar pump in a box (tweaked version) My question is, is there a way of adding a variable voltage thingamajig to the box or to the power wire? The multi voltage power supplies you can get all seem to have the voltage selector on the wrong side of the plug, so you have to remove...

How to fit accessories to a shiney Boiler, HLT.

This is a "How I did it" guide more than a "How to". Many thanks to Vossy for his how to on converting a thermo pot to a bottom draining mash tun, which inspired me to do my own similar but slightly modified version. Parts list. Note that Tappatalk users may have to use web view to view...

How to make a Solar Pump in a box

Ok I've just tried to power my pump with my new power supply and it won't power it  The pump I have is the 24v 5m head version of this solar pump, I've tried a variable output 12v power supply and it doesn't work, however my 15v charger works... Aluminium Mesh

Thanks guys :thumb: On closer inspection the mesh may be too flimsy to support anything, and like you say Vossy, if it pits it will quite literally disintegrate I think :hmm: As I am slap bang in the middle of making my shiney brewery, are there any methods of making false bottoms out of...
