This recipe sounds yum!! Just a few questions if someone could answer for me... Instead of cider yeast would i be able to use youngs yeast and nutrient? Also once its in the demijohn do you just ferment it as you would for a wine? And do you have to use Tannin? I've seen people replace it...

    Ribena Wine...Still fermenting

Hi, does anybody know how long Ribena wine takes to ferment? I first put it in the demijohn a month ago and then two weeks later topped it up with cold water, as the recipe said, but now its still fermenting, like one bubble every 2-3 seconds. Most of the other wines i have done have slowed...

Today i started my Elderberry wine, after about 2 hours of plucking the berries off the stalks  I've never really used my hydrometer, but do I just need to take a reading of the fruit and water mix? I know you shouldn't do it once the yeast is added, however i thought it needed to be...

    Cherry Wine Stuck, HELP! :(

So I measured this with the hydrometer and got about 1050ish, but then i tasted the wine and it was AWFUL! could this be because I have left it on the sediment for too long after the ferment had stopped?

    Basic First Steps

Hi, on a walk recently I found a Hop plant. I've never brewed beer only wine, but is there a way I could use these hops to create a beer using wine making equipment i.e a 1 gallon demijohn rather than the 5 gallon carboy that is used in beer brewing. Thanks :D

    Cherry Wine Stuck, HELP! :(

Hi, about a month ago I transfered my cherry wine into a demijohn and was amazed at how quickly the bubbles were going in the airlock -super fast- anyway about a fortnight after that it stopped fermenting and I haven't seen a single bubble since. There is about 2inch of sediment at the bottom...
