Hi all,

A good brewday, hit volumes and a a good OG. Only problem was I had a leak in my FV by the tap so had to quickly improvise and move the wort to another FV. Lost about half a litre so not too bad..

Brewing this for The Spring Thing competition. Hopefully it'll turn out well :)

Style: Generic Ale 
Batch size: 23.0 l 
Boil volume: 27.0 l 
OG: 1.052 
FG: 1.013 
Bitterness (IBU): 12.2 
Color (SRM): 7.0 
ABV: 5.1% 

Grain/Sugars: 

3.10 kg Wheat (German), 59.6% 
1.50 kg Pilsener (German), 28.8% 
0.30 kg Oat Husks, 5.8% 
0.30 kg Caramel Wheat Malt, 5.8% 

Hops: 

42.00 g Hersbrucker (AA 2.8%, Whole) 90 min, 11.5 IBU 
7.00 g Hersbrucker (AA 2.8%, Whole) 10 min, 0.7 IBU 

Yeast:
WLP380 - 1litre starter

It's nuts isn't it! Great yeast though.

Looking at all the other brew day posts on here makes me want more shiny things!!

edit... i see your blow off tube made no difference :D

Well it's no wonder your blow-off is blowing off. A 90 minute ferment is pretty fast ! I suspect your yeast will be well and truly dead too :shock:

sorry... i thought you said mash temperature!!

18c for first day (pittsys advice) then 20c for the duration
