There's an old cannon works not far from where I live...the old firing range is still there where rumour has it,if you can be bothered,you can dig cannon balls!
 
I have a BSA Lightning whish is great......It's ideal for targets and ratting which is exactly what I bought it for.
Same rifle as me - bought when we had a flock of free-range chickens, to keep down the rats. I went for the .22 since the range was never far & I felt that the extra weight of shot was more important. It seemed pretty damned accurate to me, despite the break-barrel. Clamped into a B&D Workmate, so I could calibrate sights, the grouping seemed very good indeed. Certainly, I seldom missed a rat, although whenever I shot one it was a static target under a feeder. A rather expensive toy now, though, since we no longer have chickens & I've got to pay a licence fee.
