Just cut down a apple tree from the garden.
There Will be various spoons and kitchen equipment made.
Still plenty left. Thinking I should dry some and scorch for beer production.
Has anyone much experience?
Be shame to just end up on the fire..

No used any for beer - but would so be great for adding to the end of a bbq and also to dry chips to use in hot or cold smoking.

Let us know how you get on, the spoons sound cool!

When I've googled, seems a lot from the BBQ boys and girls👍

I have used applewood to make smoked malt. I used 6 or 7 roughly 1" blocks, soaked in water for a coulple of hours then added onto some hot coals in a barbeque, put some base malt (preferably uncrushed) in a mesh container (I used a poundland kitchen sieve) placed on the other side of the bbq, closed the lid and waited 20 mins.

Nice carving skills by the way.

I have an apple tree. Be interesting to know how the wood affects the taste. I've only ever bothered giving some of the wood to the hamsters to chew on.

Not sure what I was expecting. But it actually smells of apple's!
