Boiler conversion hop socks

Hi All,

Picked up this today from a care home where it had been condemned because there was a cut in the cable.

I fixed the cable by cutting it and shortening it, then whipped out the tap and replaced with a ball valve.

I was going to use a hop sock instead of a hop strainer and wondered if anyone here uses them.
