Hi forum,

I'm doing another evening brew, having found I can just about do it in time.

I've got the boil going now, and I need to think what to do with the hops.

I've used 3kg pale malt, and I also used 1.5kg mild malt (which I had in), and I'm going for a 4 gallon IPA. How might the mild malt pan out for an IPA?

Then, I have cascase, northern brewer, fuggles and challenger hops in the freezer.

Which of those are better for bittering vs aroma?

I might also dry hop ...

I will try not to drop any books in this.

I think its called forward planning IPA
Im sure someone on here can help you

I'd bitter with Northern Brewer or Challenger and flavour/aroma with Cascade if I was going for an American IPA or challenger and Fuggle for an English style IPA.

Ta for that mate, seems I'm not too far out. Thanks for the tip about Enlish vs American IPA!
