Folks,

Is there a consensus on what pressure folk find best for CPBFs?

I recently bought a CPBF from a well known known on line auction site.

It was made in 304 stainless and came from Malaysia - £23 ish.

Despite the quality components it's been a bit of a mare.

Almost every joint leaked, fittings were overtightened and threads chewed. Getting it apart has been a challenge, I've sorted the threads and reassembled it leak free.

I've also fitted a pressure gauge and recalibrated a safety dump valve so the pressure bleeds off automatically.

The tubing was a bit rough, but easily sorted.

If you buy one of these be prepared for some workshop time!

I use a rubber bung with a tube stuck through and a hose clip.. I find the best pressure is just below the point where I spray beer all over the room every time.

I use a party tap with a piece of beer line stuck in it, cut off at an angle. Then fill until it foams to the very top of neck of the bottle, then cap on the foam to ensure there is no oxygen in there.
