Not true, you should also watch Oz and Breaking Bad.
oh yeah Oz! I forgot about that, blimey that was violent wasnt it LOL!

I tried Breaking Bad but just couldn't get it, I might have to give it another go

Breaking bad takes a bit of getting into to begin with. The first couple of episodes I wasn't that fussed, but I persevered. After half a season I was into it and going into the 2nd season I was hooked :D

Breaking bad was an ace show...it does start a bit slow but so much better later on, definitely worth a watch!

Big fan of Luc Besson-Nikita,Leon,5th Element,Taxi (french version).

Don't mind a few subtitles? Amelie, Delicatessen, District 13,the Millennium trilogy (Dragon tattoo etc), Battle Royale, Mesrine (both parts-french gangster movie based on real life events, just superb)

Comedy- Waking Ned,The Commitments,the Van,Black sheep,Animal House,Blue Collar Comedy tour, Mary & Max (Aussie claymation that's dark,funny & bitter-sweet), Fido, Zombieland

Box sets- +1 for Dexter (gets better as it goes along, season 4 is just pure class) & Breaking Bad. If you liked 300 then Saprtacus is worth a look. Firefly. The Walking Dead, The Killing (Danish NOT US), The Bridge, Being Human. Sharpe

Not really seen any films for a while, me & SWMBO are TV show addicts at the moment, we have seen all of Stargate SG1, Sons Of Anarchy, Lost, Bones, most of Prison Break, currently working our way through 24, we are on Season 4 at the moment :)

Usually get through 2-3 episodes a night!

I watched Safehouse yesterday, That was a good film

Right, here we go....

Films -

Prometheus (cinema right now, it's cracking)
Tyrannosaur (DVD, British gritty drama about abusive relationships)
Carnage (mentioned earlier,. it really is hilarious)
The Artist (The silent film everyone was raving about this year)

TV

Breaking Bad (Series 5 about to start in America, available through sneaky downloads :nono: )
Lost
Modern Family (it's a comedy series... brilliant. A bit like a more modern Malcolm in the Middle)
Have got 4 series of the new Battlestar Galactica to watch. Have heard good things.

I saw Tyranasaur earlier this week, brilliant film

Very gritty as you would expect from Paddy Considine, given his close work with Shane Meadows. Olivia Coleman is absolutely outstanding

Seen Prometheus on tues night. I went in with no real expectations, ok I was slightly excited, and what I got was a brilliant film in its own right. Seen lots of negative reviews saying its not a prequal to the Alien franchise. But if from what predator and avp, both books and film, have shown is that the Alien universe is massive. And really the current films are only the tip of the iceberg. So to me Prometheus is just another side to the Alien universe and is to be taken as such.

Brilliant film, a couple of plot holes but otherwise brilliant.

Another vote here for safe house :-)

The TV series Boardwalk Empire is good too

Kenny
Pan's Labrynth

I thought the original 'Death at a funeral' was very good, it had the original guy from Spooks in it.
Also the original version of The Lady Killers is a film worth seeing

and a film staring Omid Djalili that I laughed out loud at - The Infidel

Absolutely. Bit of a surprise to see her evolve so much from Sophie in Peep Show!!!

Well, nobody mentioned any of my favourites, (i think)

Predator
Capricorn 1
Braveheart
Alien
Aliens
Dumb and Dumber
Little Miss Sunshine

Nice thread revival!

I pretty much entirely watch documentaries - I grew a bit despondent to 'Hollywood' style stuff a while back. Some of my favourites of the last few years (click for trailers).

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF4H8lB2Y_o"]Anvil! The story of Anvil[/ame] [metal documentary - possibly the greatest film ever made]
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGFDWTC8B8g"]Jason Becker - Not Dead Yet[/ame] [metal again - about a guitarist's efforts to overcome a disease]
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIawNRm9NWM"]Man on Wire[/ame] [100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes]
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW35PKEVYMw"]The Yes Men Fix The World[/ame]

Snowpiercer is suprisingly good, much better than the trailer suggests. Very Orwellian
