how to mature cider

got a couple of brews on. have used malic acid in one when they have finished fermenting
read that i should leave them to mature for 3 to 6 months.
do i leave cider in f v for this lengh of time before putting into keg or bottles
once in bottles can i drink straight away
will it be ok, should i move it to cool place.
confusing myself a wee bit

Yes Ideally leave it in a sealed FV under airlock.
