When walking back from the town centre I noticed this growing in the hedgerow. Does this look like a hope plant to you?

I'll definitely be keeping a close eye on this now. How will I know if its wild and will I be able to use cones from if I get any

I think only by trying them out, maybe you could pick some cones, give them a really good rub between both palms and having a good sniff. If it smells good, they'll probably be good to use.

Maybe chuck four or five liters of water mixed with organic feed down on it to help it along.

sounds like a plan have to work out a way of walking the streets with a watering can now. Think I might get some funny looks

You won't get any cones, this is a male plant ( look at the flowers)

Bugger thought it was to good to be true. Its absolutely covered in flowers as well I thought those were the cones but sadly not. I'll be keeping an eye on it anyway as I pass it on a regular basis. You never know it might transgender.
