Hi. I have 2 all grain beers in the fvs. Been there for a week now.
There is a little krausen around the edge, but not over the whole beer. Is this normal? As all others I've done has a large krausen over whole beer.
Thanks in advance.

This is normal for some types of yeast. I find S04 loses it's head after 2 or 3 days whereas US05 does not. I put the airlock on my FV after a couple of days as the beer looks a bit exposed once the head has gone.
Just keep an eye on the gravity readings to check when it is done.

+1 visible indicators such as krausen or sediment/trub/ bubbles, do indicate activity, but the only reliable test is a gravity reading ;)

Thanks folks. Gravity looks ok. Down to 1010 & still a few bubbles going on. I'm going to leave it for the full 2 weeks.
Used a couple of different yeasts this time, usually use us05, so this explains it.
Cheers
