Well this isnt going well today....
Missed my strike temperature by miles - and have had to put nearly 16lts of water into the mash tun to get the temperature to 66.
With that much liquid, the grain is all in suspension so its not possible to collect wort without masses of **** coming into the boiler...
Not sure if this is a mistake, but I've drained about 6lts of wort out into a fermenter, in order to get the grain bed to drop, and i'm now jugging that back through, collecting in the boiler. Once I've got about 5lts in the boiler, I'll get the sparge water going through as usual.
That sound ok??
