Hi,

As the pic should show, it's bust, and causing air to get into the wort as it moves through the syphon. Can I purchase spares of this separately anywhere, or does it have to be a new racking cane each time?

You can get spares. I got a free one from homebrew online as my auto Syphon wouldn't seal properly. I since found flaring out the seal gently with your thumb before use fixes this..

You can buy spares. The rubber end on mine deteriorated, letting air in.

The new ones I got are hard plastic, not rubber and seem more durable and resistant to boiling water.

Ah thanks for your replies. I'd read elsewhere that pouring a few ounces of beer into the gap between tube and cane would act as a plug. Seems an unnecessary piddle.

Just tasting the Munton's Belgian I first had the problem with several weeks ago. Doesn't seem to have hurt it one bit, having no trouble drinking it :)

But no point risking oxidation or whatever. I'll look into spares or head to Wilko. Thanks.
