RIP Jon Lord

So yet another of my Rock Gods has sadly gone.

Deep Purple were a seminal part of my teenage years, I hate to think how many hours I spent listening to "In Rock" and "Burn".

In fact I think I'll go and put "Speed King" on and raise a glass or two tonight.

Jon may you Rock in Peace.

Was never a massive purple fan but it is sad to see another from that era of music, most of them true musicians, die. RIP

I really was/am but sort of by proxy given they'd released all their best stuff before I was born.

I was lucky enough to see them live though, in their sixth incarnation, Lord, Paice, Blackmore, Glover, Turner at the Playhouse in Edinburgh.

Very sad, Burn is a fantastic record that was played in its entirety at a recent house party of ours.
