Fantastic thread, and lovely build. Looks like you have managed to save so much money! How much do you think it would have cost if you weren't as patient and didn't research as much?

Good luck with the venture.

You kept the bridestone as the pilot?

Yes of Course I did,It will also make a good ltd edition Bottle Brewery, so I can do small runs of specialist & one off, beers.

No Idea, I have not researched too much with this build to be honest, I have picked up the stuff as I have gone along, & I would have saved a whole heap more if I Had researched the price of the stainless interconnects electrics etc, (to be honest If I had seen the price of those before starting I probably wouldn't have gone ahead) The Biggest cost is always the Hidden one in the small things you buy, not the big tanks etc.

As well as the Mild I brewed Yesterday, I managed to fit in a Pale Hoppy Blonde Today, am well happy, not brewed for months, finally it looks like I will have some beer to market by the end of next week, :D

Just a few photos from this weekends brewing activities, not many I am afraid as I had a few hiccups to deal with and was trying to work on the 5BBL plant as well as brew.

Cheers JP, its good to be brewing again I really missed it.

I skimmed the crud off my "Blonde" Pale ale earlier & took a short video of what was a very active fermentation there were bits whizzing around like billy o.

Watch the Video Here

45 minutes later I & this is what lay before me

Called in my local for a pint on way home from the brewery, & had a bag of Pork Scratchings, now I know pork pies and the like have all sorts of weird and wonderful parts of a pig mushed up in them but I didn't expect to find this part of the pig in the bag

Skimming was far from being a waste of time, as I was skimming the brown crud off. (very bitter break material which makes the finished beer astringent if not skimmed off).

The clean meringue peaks so soon after skimming are a good sign.

As for the pork scratching I thought it look more like a penis than a rusty sheriffs badge. Not a pigs though as they would be a tongue twister being corkscrew shaped and all that :ugeek:
