Hi, new here. I have made TC before but i though I would scale it up a little this time. I'm using a 2 liter pop bottle as the fermenter with the lid screwed on loosely as a ghetto airlock and it worked great on the last batch using lidl juice.
This time i accidently bought 6 liters of apple nectar but though i would use it anyway and see how it went. In my last batch I used just AJ and Allison's baking yeast. It worked fine but this time using the nectar I am getting an odd thing on the foam and it is smelling very sharp (now 22 hours into fermentation) Has it become infected? Before use I cleaned everything so I cannot see how it has become infected (Unless is has not)
Note the brown stuff on the froth.
