So emptied out the dj full of sloe gin, now i have loooads of sloes left - can i do anything (drinkable) with them? Can't be bothered with faffing around with chocolates etc.

Otherwise we may have some fairly pi**ed birdies later when it goes on compost heap :)

I put my left-over ginned sloes into some sloe port. This is the combination I used:

75cl red wine
23cl (1/3 bottle) brandy
110g (1/3 jar) honey OR 75g granulated or demerara sugar
About 500g sloes, any combination of ginned and frozen.

This should all fit into a 1.5L Kilner jar.

thanks all! Chutney is a great idea, i probably have enough to have a go at all three

I made a crumble but it needed 2 thirds apple to one part sloes.

you put them in a bottle of sherry, use a kilner jar, turn the jar every day for I week, add 1 tablespoon sugar after 2 weeks (optional), store for 3-6 weeks, then strain out sloes, store and drink :thumb:
