It's a hung parliament.

And the Labour manifesto promised us all lots of lovely things grown in their their forest of magic money trees, let alone one single tree. Trouble is no-one really knows how their forest was going to be paid for, except perhaps Mickey Mouse or Dianne Abbot.

Of course they did, Politicians always promise stuff in maifesto's then dont deliver. I havent read the Labour manifesto so haven't read how they intend to fund all these promises. Borrowing money to spend is never a good idea but if they intend to have higher taxes perhaps they could do it?
Make no mistake I'm no Labour fanboy. My point was that we've had 7 years of austerity and the Goverment telling us that we have to balance the books and you the people need to tighten your belts and suffer (whilst we MPs award ourselves a payrise) then when it suits the Government (because they saw how Labour gained seats partly by blaming the terroist attacks on cuts and austerity) and saw their majority get wiped out and they were up $hit creek they suddenly did a volte face and decided to drop austerity

So basically you are saying that you are aware that they are ALL liars and you have known that for years, and any politician will do anything, in order to hang on to power. As far as Im concerned its called democracy... and thats what people want in the western world. If you look at history, you will find that those with money have always stuffed everyone else, whether its to build a new railway, export slaves, sling up more cotton mills, or open another coal pit. Nothing has changed for centuries. Go and have a look at where Gunge lives in Barnsley...that will turn your head.

I agree with this, Might be the narrow life I have had compared to many on here but its like they tip the scales one way and then the other tip it back.

We are due some Labour to start spending again

I don't believe for one minute the manifesto was fully costed without being very economical with the truth but hey I don't expect them to tell me the truth now

I think many people are aware politicians are shysters but I dont think democracy means letting politicians do whatever they feel like. It's our job as an electorate and polulation is to hold them to account else they'll try and get away with even more than they do now.

I agree the rich and powerful will always try to f*ck over the poor and weak but surely your not saying, 'oh well it's always been this way so lets just lie down and let it happen'. We've come a long way over the centuries, once upon a time people were tied to the land and were vitrually slaves and only land owners could vote. So if people continue to fight for rights and fair and equitable society perhaps things can be more equal

Never said that. just try and launch a protest and you will have the full force of the law on your back. The power that working class people THINK they have is just an illusion to make them feel better/ Its like pissing in the wind...futile

Depends on the numbers mobilised. Remember the poll tax riots.

The bit where I live is actually alright. And believe or not I have seen worse places than the worst that Barnsley has to offer... and they look like a post-nuclear apocalypse. Just thought I'd put that straight ( and no offence or anything taken)! Ok carry on, everyone!

I saw the heading of this Thread and I thought "A wish come true!" ... :thumb: :thumb:

... but then discovered that no-one had actually hung Teresa, Boris or any of the rest!

Just in case you aren't sure what the DUP (founded on 30 September 1971 by Ian Paisley, leader of the Protestant Unionist Party) here are their Policies ...

... and here's why I would rather not have their members deciding which way th UK is to be governed ...

Hanging people, beheading people.
Where does this violence fetish of the left come from?
It's no wonder they make such great bed fellows with Islamists.

I am proud to count a number of Muslims amongst my friends! :thumb:

Along with a couple of Hindus, a Sikh and a wide variety of Christians ranging from "Wee Free" Presbyterians to staunch Roman Catholics ...

... and NOT ONE OF THEM is a Terrorist!

However, they do have a sense of humour; which is a trait that seems to be sadly lacking amongst some of the Forum Members!

I totally agree Dutto if i thought for a moment it wasn't tongue in cheek i would have removed it myself.

.

I didn't think I cared much and I still won't claim to fully understand your politics, but I just watched the Last Leg special on your election and I think you should all be bloody proud of yourselves!

I'm similar, but one or two of my friends/family do have rather fundamentalist Islamic leanings - I figure that while they are still willing to argue with me we're doing alright. I also have friends with similarly extreme views on "Christianity," Seikh, Homosexuality, and others - but I figure as long as people are open to discussion, there is hope.

Cuss me for being an Aussie, I guess.

I similarly have extremist and fundamentalist views...beer should only contain grain, hops, yeast and water. Everything else is heresy!!
