    Beer / milk crates

Seems like it's one of those things you need to get lucky with. I've got some of one of the links above. Only £8 each which isn't too bad. Thanks for all the replies.

    Beer / milk crates

Hi, I need to transport a lot of home brew and thought that a few of the old plastic beer or milk crates would do the job. However I'm having real problems finding any. eBay has done for sale but at about £15 each. Has anyone any experience of finding any, if so, where from? Thanks, Dom

Is my fermentation stuck? What else can I do?

Just took a sneaky sample and it is very tasty already. Just crash cooling (shouldn't take long in this weather!) then onto secondary in a couple of days.

    Wiil My Beer Freeze?

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing that if your bottles are very full and they freeze it could crack glass bottles as well?

Is my fermentation stuck? What else can I do?

Sorry, I'm a little confused, how will I be able to add the sugar without stirring it? I use a brew fridge as well, so should I crash cool for a couple of days before I add priming sugar?

Is my fermentation stuck? What else can I do?

Excellent, think it's sorted, tested today and it's down to 1014 or thereabouts. Only problem, I've noticed a crack in the lid of the fv, so I've racked it off to a new fv in case it got contaminated. I'd already bought the new fv to use as a secondary, but I don't know if it's finished...

    Annoyed with myself!

Ok, so wine yeast nutrient will do the same? I know my wilkos sell the wine nutrient, but I don't need to get specialist beer yeast nutrient?

Is my fermentation stuck? What else can I do?

If I stir it, should I disturb all the gunk at the bottom or steer clear of that. I know not to splash it to reduce any oxygen.

Is my fermentation stuck? What else can I do?

Hi, I'm currently brewing a Muntons Smugglers ale. O.g. Was 1.051. It's been in the bin for 2.5 weeks and it's only got down to 1.017. Temp has been a constant 19 degrees, but I bumped it up to 20.5 at the weekend when I noticed it was t doing much still. At the weekend it was 1.020, so it...

First time bottling, want to check the process

It was just what I'd read as a way to make sure it was clear, it if you say I don't need that stage then great. Does it still need chilling at some point though? If so when? Great idea of the bottles, thanks.

First time bottling, want to check the process

Hi, I've got a brew going on that's about ready for the second stage. I've always kegged before, but wanted to give bottling a try, mainly so I can compare the two. I just wanted to check that I have the process sorted in my mind before I start. 1) Syphon into a clean keg and chill to...

    After a recommendation please

Hi, I'm going away for a weekend just before Christmas to the lakes with some pals walking and drinking etc. I've been tasked with brewing a beer for the trip as last year our bar bill came to nearly £300 between 3 of us. We all like fairly pale summery session beers, not too strong...

Trying to get beer ready for tomorrow

How will I know what the pressure is up to? It's just a normal 5 gallon barrel, like you get in starter kits.

Trying to get beer ready for tomorrow

Hi all, I've been brewing the muntons Pilsner for a boys night tomorrow but it's not quite ready. The primary fermentation went well, 2 weeks down to 1.010. I cut short the secondary just a week and it's now in my garage although with the weather this week means the line between secondary...

    Pressure barrel leaking -help

I've released the pressure a little and all seems fine again now. Thanks. If it's already got to this stage, is it ready to be put somewhere cool? Thanks, Dom
