    Oh no, a stuck ferment!

Well I have a red grape juice wine that seems stuck, it was fermenting away quite happily for 2 weeks then appeared to have slowed right down and stopped, so i checked it and its still on 1050 and sweet as you like I used youngs super wine yeast with added nutrient, I have since added another...

Ok, I have an idea. Anyone out there made up a stout and substituted some of the water for prune juice? I have acquired a cheap Youngs Def. Stout kit and was considering this tweak, what d'ya reckon chaps? CS

    Gassing up

Right, I have a couple of cheapo kegs (but am going to invest in some cornies soon), I just wondered about using N20 bulbs instead of CO2 ones, would it make a difference in say a keg of stout? Or would the small bubbles not be absorbed into the already CO2 'carbonated' brew? anyone? Can you...

Pulling pint from El Cheapo keg

Somewhere i read about fixing a turkey baster to the tap in order to get the end to the bottom of the glass. I couldnt find one that was gonna work, but i did find one of those granny-style rubber nozzles that fixes over kitcken taps - this works well as a pipe reducer to get various tubes to...

Cracked open one of my Wherrys

I did this last night, its only had a couple or three weeks conditioning but was very clear and smooth - not really what i was expecting for some reason  I quite liked the zesty citrus taste but not sure if I could drink alot of it in one hit. Very pleasurable all the same, a nice cool...

    Youngs Lager Yeast

Is this a true lager yeasty? if so what would be the ideal optimum temp to ferment my lager kit at with this yeast? Room temp is about 16c fairly constant, but the garage temp fluctuates a fair amount but lately not less than 8c at night

    Youngs Definitive Bitter

I was given one of these, probably not what i would have chosen judging by peoples' comments I have read. What would be the best way to get the optimum out of this kit in terms of flavour/body? Has anyone any experience of this kit? Thanks Stoker  PS. I probably intend to keg this one

    Leaking Tap

Its seems i have a leaking tap on my wilko budget keg. The seal where it joins the keg was vassed and is good. It is leaking from tge juncture where the tap revolves where you can adjust position of the spout, anyone else had this? So far i have loosened the main cap to reduce pressure...

    Lack Lustre Fizz

I did an edme lager kit about a month ago, and i thought I would just crack open a bottle to give it a taste - you know how it is! Whilst it does taste fine, its not particularly fizzy compared to the last couple of kits i have made. (i did try another bottle and that was the same, still...
