Edme Stout

Currently got one of these in the FV, anyone know what the likely FG is roughly with these kits?
First stout for me, looking forward to it :party:

Ok thanks, its on 1012 after 5 days but does seem to have slowed right down after the initial blitzkrieg. I'll check in another few days

I know people say Coopers stout is a good kit, but I quite like an Edme stout, I just prefer the mouth feel over a Coopers kit. Really enjoying one at the moment with a coffee tweak CB told me about, but have brewed it several times without any tweaks.

Anything consistent under 1012 for three days and you'll be ready to bottle, I'm trying to leave mine for as long as I can before drinking , but the blighter keeps calling to me when I go in the cupboard

They all call for me too Sean but I have been suffering from a strange lower abdomen pain at the mo which is worrying me. Its been prevalent for 3 weeks now I have seen the doc once about it, and he had a good old grope of my man bits :shock: and took a urine sample.
If this persists i have to go back for a rectal exam and blood tests - so I'm a tad concerned :|
I have limited my intake for now because of this, concentrating on manufacturing :thumb:

:shock: Hope your OK! I`ve done a few coopers kits and they all finished around 1006 to 1010 :thumb:

Dont worry, I wouldnt have mentioned it if I wasnt prepared to come in for a barrage of sh*t :grin: I get it from my mates all the time, fight fire with fire I say!! :lol:

CS - i see you added black treacle to your stout - i bottled an AG old peculier clone about ten days ago that I added a tin of black treacle to (454grams) had a taster and the treacle has worked really well, was a bit strong when I bottled it almost overpowering the malts but even in ten days has mellowed and really adds to the brew - and as its 6.5% it needs a couple months to condition so should get even better - Hope yours is a success to

Thanks Rick :thumb: I added about 250g black treacle on top of the 1kg of brew sugar (40pints), would have used extra dark spraymalt if i had had some. The SG was still only 1045, kind of wish i had reduced the water a tad too now, time will tell :pray: I can always brew another :grin:
Its been sat on 1012 for a while now, I'd like it to go down a tad more ideally. Will be bottling next week and intend to leave for 6 weeks or so.
Trying to get a brew on one after another as soon as i can so there will always be something matured to drink, seems to be working hiccup!!

Trying to get a brew on one after another as soon as i can so there will always be something matured to drink

that`s the hardest thing with homebrewing!!! I`m trying to do a brew every weekend to get stocks up - but the more i have the quicker it tends to go :lol:
