Cam lock type c

Hi

I am buying cam lock connections for my set up and looking for advice for what type c to buy.

I am buying silicone tubing from brew builder that is 12mm ID and wonder if I should get the biggest type c fitting. Mr lard said it's a struggle to get on but it then won't come off.

Who has used the type c fittings and what is the best one to get.

You need the 12.7mm tube platinum cured,Angel homebrew stuff is what i have fits like a glove

Just measure the width of the barb which the tube will attach,mines 12mm this is the inside of the barb attached with the hose.

fwiw my take was to get the camlock female fittings with female bsp threads. Type D

into those i screwed 1/2" bsp weld nipples..

that allowed me to use 19mm id silicone tube and a jubilee clip to secure the camlock/weld nipple to the hose..

No restriction or unwanted bottlenecks to catch debris..

this is all for hotside brewing..

Brewers, what's the flow rate like from that? Do you wish it was more? I am switherng between your cam lock size which I know will fit and be fine, or a bigger size to increase flow rate. My set up is 100l.

You could always change the end connector if you want a bigger flow from your boiler to the mash tun,then crank the handle down to reduce the flow.
