I visited our local store earlier as i found out they sell the Ulverston brewing company celebration ale which I had at a local pub for the first time last weekend, its been a few years since i have been in the store and was surprised to find they not only sell most of the UBC beers but also the TT landlord beers i have seen members post about in the "What are you drinking tonight" thread which I haven't been able to find here, they have a very good selection of beers many of which i haven't seen before so i will visit again, i now have the following beers for the weekend.

Never heard of Booths until about 12 years ago when we went on a holiday to the Forest of Bowland. Got to the holiday cottage fairly late on in the day, we didn't have much by way of food with us so after settling in the wife and our then 9 month old boy, I headed out to do the food shop. The information at the cottage said there was a Booths in one direction and a Sainsbury's or Tesco in the other. Wondering what Booths was I headed to the other supermarket 😄

Luckily later on in the week we were in whatever town had the Booths in it and decided to pay it a visit. At first I did think it was just the northern version of Waitrose but now understand that they only share a buying group hence some similarities. Better than Waitrose IMO, more beer and the cheese counter is amazing 🙂

Years ago at Christmas time we were on a road trip up to Hesketh Bank to pick up P the JRT.
There was a Booths there which we had a look round. Mrs Clint bought some christmassy things and I bought a 10kg bag of local potatoes.

I have always compared Booths to Marks & Spencer you pay a bit more but its worth it especially when it comes to their selection of meat.

Fun fact, Batemans once did a bottle conditioned ale exclusively for Booths, who insisted on it being bottle conditioned, which annoyed the Batemans head brewer at the time as he was of the view that the Batemans yeast wasn't really ideal for bottle conditioning. This was way back in the early 2000s I believe.
