I wonder how many strokes of that pump it takes to move a batch and how hard it is. And that poor bugger having to move all the wort with a jug on a stick. I'm such a clutz I'd have it all over the shop.

What we must remember is in those days plain water was even more lethal.!!!

The "old" brewing methods are fascinating, Imagine today DELIBERATELY adding Lead to your beer.
