Hey Guys,

Just started on my first batch of homebrew, an IrishRed Ale. Lets hope it goes well, super excited.

Also started with an all grain extract so staright in a the deep end :geek:

Tell us how you made it. Recipe and method. I like red ales.

I wish I started in the deep end, it's not that much more difficult but 100% better.

Welcome aboard although we won't believe you unless you show pictures :)

Thanks guys,

Ok so I went for a one gallon batch in case it went a bit wrong.

I used 1.75 lbs of pale malt,
0.5 lbs of crystal "60" malt,
0.1 oz of chocolate malt,

0.5 oz of northern brewer at start then same again 5 mins from the end of boil.

Sorry for the imperial measurements using an american recipe so it was a bit of a pain finding the exact ingredients. All seems to be ok at the moment just waiting to move into bottles.

I made a rookie mistake of not filtering the hops out when transferring into demijohn, oh I also used a bag to hold the grains when steeping.

Already wish I'd made more as it wasn't the quickest process so def going to increase the volume next time..... Just waiting now!
