Just thought i would revive an old thread (didnt choose the Real Mans Shaving thread as it was for double edged shaving).

Another of my hobbies is to shave with a straight razor. Been doing it for several months now and i will never turn back!

Are there any other straight razor shavers out there? if so what kit do you have.

I have 3 razors in total... but like home brewing its bloody addictive.

I'm a Double-Edge shaver - I did try using a single-edge shavette, but I haven't got steady enough hands. I feared that one little slip and it'd be a trip to A&E whereas it's difficult to do that with the DE.

And yes, the other comments about it getting expensive like brewing are so right! I went from a boots DE razor and a couple of blades to having about 10 razors including vintage Gillettes and a brand new stainless steel Weber from the USA. Oh, and amassing a stash of about 1500 blades...

But top proper-bloke-marks to you for using the single-edges...!
