I picked up a wilko stout in the current sale and I'm trying to decide what fermentables to use. I see a lot of people use take in stout kits, but I'm not a massive fan of black treacle. How about 500g dme and 1kg muscavado? Anyone used muscavado before.....is 1kg going to leave a strange taste? How about 500g dme, 500g muscavado and a tin of golden syrup? I've never really used anything other than dme or brewing sugar so any pointers appreciated. Cheers.
