Do people who have a wort cooler cool the wort in the boiler or in a seperate FV? I am just asking as it occurs to me that adding hops a few minutes from the end for the flavour and then letting them seep in the cooling wort for 1/2hr might not be counter productive, or does it have little effect if you cool quickly?

I put my cooler into the boil about 5mins before ther end of the boil. This sterilises it.
Then when I turn off the boiler it use the cooler to take the wort down to about 78-80degC before I add my aroma hops. I leave for about 10mins depending on recipe, the cool down to 22degC.
I then take the chiller out to clean it while I very slowly pour the wort from the boiler to the FV hoping to get as much O2 in as possible. :thumb:
