ITV4 will presumably have the one hour highlights thing around 7pm.

Or maybe not?

Thanks, 'clib', highlights are good enough for me.

I see ITV4 are doing Criterium, TdeF, and TofB.

Anyone know if Vuelta will be available?

Jerry

I think the Vuelta will be on ITV as it's the same outfit as TdF and they usually show it, Giro is a different Co. and so different contracts issued. I really hate sitting through the excessive adverts though on ITV4

Regarding the Vuelta -RTVE (Spanish broadcaster) should have 3 hours live, Eurosport the whole thing, ITV probably just highlights.

Can't find any info but the daily highlights will be on terrestrial somewhere, Quest or ITV4 most likely.

I do enjoy ITV cycle coverage - nice balance of knowledgeable comments and periods of just allowing one to watch the racing. Think it was Eurosport, continuous stream of shouting commentary - not for me

So which shall I get, GCN or Eurosport?

Eurosport commentary really depends on who is the commentator, I dislike Carlton Kirby, the up side is when Sean Kelly or Matt Stephens are the number 2
ITV, generally good commentary and I like David Millar's input as he really knows what he is talking about. The downside are the constant bloody adverts and if watching the highlights the competition. Still, back in the day all we got was a 30 minute highlights and half of that was an update on yesterday, the adverts and the competition. (plus they are not showing the Giro as far as I know)
GCN, I don't know the commentators for the Giro but likely to be a lot better than Eurosport as they tend to employ ex pro cyclists and they have no adverts (though neither do Eurosport if you take that option). I think I may give them a try for a month but am wondering if i will be able to view it on my TV rather than have to sit at my computer.

I'd want to watch it on tv. May have to go for Eurosport.

You may be able to, it needs checking out but you can certainly cast to your tv from a smartphone or tablet and maybe just use the internet if your TV has that facility.

Commentator-wise, some of them are starting to sound like football commentators, not good.

My wife can't understand a word Sean Kelly says.

I actually find him quite easy to follow, I didn't think that when he first started commentating some years ago, maybe he has toned down his dialect, or maybe my ear has become more tuned to him.

It's coming round my way Tuesday and I was hoping to cycle over to see them. Rain and strong winds predicted. Could be tough on the riders and the spectator.
